The last of the fall colors were truly spectacular! All these photos were taken on October 7 & 8, 2020 in the Blue Hills and near Birchwood, Wisconsin. The Oak trees were glowing in their warm color tones and I wanted to capture this warmth before all that beauty was gone. Who would have known that winter made a very early appearance here in northern Wisconsin!
On my way home from Spooner I saw these beautiful reflections in a small lake but it was very windy and the sun was setting. I returned the next day and was able to take more photos. It was fascinating to watch an oak leaf floating and twirling in water that looked like honey!
Saying good bye to autumn is always hard - just like letting go of habits, patterns and thoughts that don't work anymore in our lives. Now follows winter, a time and opportunity to go within, reflection and more solitude. And then spring comes around - new growth, new life and the cycle starts all over again. I am grateful to live at a place with different seasons that make it possible to be in tune with Nature's wisdom and rhythm.
Enjoy the warmth of late autumn, Susanne
