Our fall color trip along the north shore of Lake Superior, Minnesota continues.
After we left Oberg Mountain (see previous blog) we headed north on the Caribou Trail (near Lutsen) and turned east on a small gravel road towards the north end of the Cascade River State Park. It was a beautiful drive and the overcast sky helped bring out the colors of the foliage. Once in a while the sun would peak through the clouds and I was able to capture a sunlit shoreline at Pike Lake. The trees looked like they were on fire. We spent all afternoon hiking along the Cascade River taking photos at Hidden Falls. The water level was low which made it possible to explore the falls from different view points. I love that trail along the river with many Cedar trees and their roots spreading across the path.
Enjoy the tour and more to come!
