This is the continuation and 5th and last blog from out trip to the north shore of Lake Superior (Minnesota) earlier this month. See previous blog: https://soulcenteredphotography.blogspot.com/2020/10/at-canadian-border.html
We went for an evening hike to the 270 Overlook, the most northern end of the Border Route Trail - a 65 mile rugged hiking trail in the Arrowhead region of northern Minnesota. It follows the international border between Minnesota and Ontario, Canada. The view was breathtaking with a sea of yellow and green colors and cloudy sky with the sun peaking through at times.
The next day it was time to head back home with various stops along Hwy 61. First a short visit in Grand Marais, then Cascade River State Park, Temperance River gorge, and a short hike at Tettegouche State park. We experienced a mix of rain and sunshine and saw the most beautiful rainbow across Lake Superior. By the time we could pull over to take a photo it was fading.
We ended our beautiful trip at Split Rock Lighthouse - always a special place to spend some time. On the way to the car we watched a Grouse feasting on some Highbush Cranberries. It was fun to watch as she climbed from branch to branch but difficult to get a good photo.
As I am writing this the first big snowfall of the season is here. I hope you will enjoy the golden memories of autumn as much as I do.
