The following photos were taken in the last 2 weeks of October, mostly at Audie Lake in the Blue Hills (Rusk County, Wisconsin).
The first morning I got there was windy with beautiful, white puffy clouds. I was delighted to still find so much color - unusual for mid October. Two days later I went again and this time it was very calm and I was able to get some colorful reflection images.
By late October there was still some color mostly from Oak, Tamarack and Popple trees. I found a gorgeous orange Maple tree at the Memorial Park in Ladysmith.
I came across a group of Sandhill Cranes foraging in a corn field.
It was a delight to watch a large group of swans on the Flambeau river. They mostly swam in pairs - these birds mate for life and are so devoted to each other!
Enjoy this colorful selection - soon winter is arriving in the north country.
