I met Shanti, an English Golden Retriever, the first time when he was just 4 weeks old (see first photo). I had been looking for a puppy on and off for over a year but nothing worked out. But as so often in life, when the time is right everything just falls in place.
I noticed a tiny puppy and asked about him and she said, oh he is special, he is the runt. He had a rough start in life and she had to bottle feed him and take him to work. I said spontaneously, I want the runt! And 3 weeks later I was able to bring him home!! Wow, I was amazed how this all unfolded!
The first week our household (I have 3 cats!) was turned upside down!! The cats were not happy and moved outside underneath the car port! They wouldn't even accept treats that I would bring them!! But slowly they got used to this strange, white fuzzy thing - they still hiss and keep their distance but are back to their routine with a few adjustments. I had to put up a gate so the puppy can't get into the bedroom where the cats like to be during the day and snuggle with me at night.
Shanti - which means Peace - is doing very well and growing sooooo fast!! I can't believe how quick he is changing!
He loves people and has met several of my friends and neighbors.
Like all puppies, he brings a big smile on peoples faces. How can you resist such an adorable puppy and face?
And he likes to dig and chew - oh these puppy teeth are like needles!!
Naturally I have taken a lot of photos, many with my cell phone, and some with my camera.
Below I am sharing some puppy love in form of the photos I took.
Enjoy!
Susanne
