The weather turned overcast with fog, rain, wind on the day I returned from my short fall trip to the north shore of Lake Superior (see my previous blog: https://soulcenteredphotography.blogspot.com/2023/09/fall-colors-arrived-early-september-2023.html ) . This pattern lasted 10 days!! and it was exactly at the peak of the fall colors in our area (northern Wisconsin).
Needless to say I didn't get out much to take photos. Though fog and cloudy days can create some beautiful moods and saturated colors, I did miss the brilliance of sunlight shining through the trees and adding that special sparkling moment.
I did go on a trip north to Iron County to explore some new locations. I am working on a separate blog on that.
The following photos were taken from September 23.-29. 2023 in my neighborhood (Rusk County). The color patterns were unusual this year - orange, red maple trees on one side of the road whereas the same trees were still green on the other side!!
A truly magical moment happened on the morning of September 29. I noticed an orange/golden glow outside right around sunrise. The whole forest was illuminated in this unusual light. It only lasted 3-5 minutes and I quickly took a few photos of my driveway. Wow!
We had a lot of wind and rain that blew off the beautiful leaves way too fast.
Enjoy the fleeting moments of beauty seen through my camera lens. Thanks for viewing. Susanne
